my principal walked in on the days my students are engaged and we’re interacting and awesome learning is going on.

But you know, it doesn’t work out that way. Both times she’s come in when my class is in complete and utter chaos, and it’s so frustrating, because I KNOW I’ve gotten better and that it’s not always like this.

It was so bad she just walked out, shaking her head.

Being observed is so nerve wrecking! I got so nervous and flustered and didn’t really take charge of the situation to the best of my ability. Of course as soon as she left, that’s when I was able to regroup my class and move on. BUT SHE WASN’T THERE TO SEE THAT.

UGH. I’m just so frustrated with myself.

People think teaching kindergarten is easy. It’s not. You can be older than them, have way more life experience, be educated, and they will still BREAK you down.

I think that goes for teaching any grade, really.

Seriously though the next time someone tells me how easy I have it (oh, you only teach for three hours, they’re so cute and innocent) I want them to try and teach my class for just 5 minutes.

I love my job, really I do, but it’s not all fun and games. It’s exhausting, mentally and physically AND I AM ONLY 22!

Okay enough of my ranting.

Tomorrow’s another day.
